Do you really need 100 Followers to write

Is 100 Followers a milestone or a hurdle ?

If you are writing on Medium or any other platform, do you really need 100 Followers, are followers necessary to express. Or do you express what is it that you want to express.
Expression and writing is a skill and an art, it cannot be mastered except by perfecting one’s skill and learning along the process.

I was told by people in my social circle, I should not even speak English, people used to make fun of me when I spoke. Up until recently I thought I did not have what it takes to write. Hence, I never even tried to push myself to gain experience or learn from feedback.

What held me back was the fear of failure, the fear of what the people would say, how they would react when they see my content. How they would laugh and jest when they would look at me as a writer. They used to laugh at me as a developer. This had killed my desire to excel for years, even though I moved far away in my own comfort zone.

But than I had the courage, I had a mindset shift, I desired to write and work harder at both programming at writing. I wanted to excel, I did not care what people thought, I did not want to concern myself with how they would look at me. I am already away from the people who used to say that, so now, what is stopping me. Those thoughts had haunted me forever, and become my largest fears. I had to conquer it, I had to do what I wanted in this life.

And therefore, I started writing, I started developing even thought it was difficult, I pushed, I exerted. I did not care anymore. I was free to explore the territories that were once a taboo for me.
I am here now writing and I am not concerned that I gain followers, but I do care that I get readers, people who gain from my writing. Who learn along with me. And if they know better than me, than I ask them to step ahead and teach as I will be more than open to learn from them.

When you find your purpose, the world becomes your school.
